Richmond Lenox EMS wins State EMS Title

On April 21st, Emergency medical service professionals from all over the State of Michigan met in Grand Rapids to compete for the title of EMS State Champions.

This competition is comprised of both written and hands-on skills, where teams are tested on their medical knowledge and judged on their technical expertise while treating patients in mock emergency/rescue scenarios.

It is with great pride that Richmond Lenox EMS congratulates our team of Kristin Werner, Carrie Rush and Nichole Wirgau for winning 1st place in this event.  Competition organizers (the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services and the Michigan Association of EMT ’s) indicated during the awards banquet on Saturday night, that this was the first time in the 20 year history of this competition that an all female team had ever won the event.

Director Jeff White said, “We’ve always known that the communities we serve believe in and support our local EMS .  However, it was great to go out and prove this to the rest of the state.  These women competed against the best EMS professionals in the business and came out #1.”
