How many acres of land are needed to own a horse? |
A horse is considered a hoofed animal. Article 5 - Section 500 - C of our zoning ordinance states that 5 acres are needed for the first animal and an additional 1 acre for every additional animal.

Does Lenox Township have municipal water and sewer? |
The southeastern sections of the Township and the Gratiot Corridor have water and sewer service. The remainder of the Township is serviced by septic fields and wells maintained by the property owners.

Where are the Township Offices located? |
The Township Hall is located on the west side of Gratiot between 29 and 30 Mile Roads. The Fire Department Station #1, The Department of Public Works and the Richmond Lenox E.M.S. Station # 3 are located on the east side of Gratiot, just north of 27 Mile Rd. The Fire Department Station #2 is located on the south side of 32 Mile Rd, just east of Lowe Plank Road.

Does the Township have a park and where is it located? |

How many acres of land are needed for a pond? |
Article 3 - Section 333 of our zoning ordinance states that 5 acres are needed. Ponds are permitted in the AG and RL Districts. There are many regulations for ponds in Lenox Township, please see the ordinance link for specifics.

At this time the Township provides the Garbage pickup to residential parcels

Are permits needed? |
Yes, permits are needed for most structures, ponds, pools, hot tubs/spas, burning etc. Please contact the Township Building Department for more specifics.
