At 7:30 P.M. February 2, 2015 at Lenox Township Offices, 63775 Gratiot, Lenox, MI 48050, a Public Hearing will be held to obtain the views of citizens concerning community development and housing needs, as required by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.


Lenox Township will be receiving approximately $90,000.00 in Community Development Block Grant Funds for FY 2015 from the Macomb “Urban County” Program.


Federal guidelines require that maximum priority be given to activities which primarily benefit low or moderate income families or which aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight.


A variety of projects are eligible for community development funding including:


Property Acquisition

Handicapped barrier removal

Public Works and Facilities

Code Enforcement

Building Clearance/Rehab

Historic Preservation

Public Services

Planning and Administration

Housing Rehabilitation



Citizens residing in blighted areas or persons of low and moderate income are encouraged to participate.


Lenox Township will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audiotapes of printed materials considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities attending the hearing, upon (7) seven days notice to the Township Clerk.
